Be Well
I have decided to share the protocols and products that I use to keep myself and my family well and support them through any colds/flu's/viruses they come home with.
Most of these are age old remedies that have proven the test of time. You can easily search any of them to make them yourself or purchase mine that I have to offer at the bottom of this page.
I have tried to keep it simple and concise.
Protocol I Use When Anyone Comes Home Sick
Sore Throat
A little spoon of local honey straight up as needed is one of the most simple but effective soothing agent for sore throats. I suggest looking up the benefits of local raw honey... there are many.
Make a tea or gargle out of dried Sage leaves for any throat or mouth infection. Add honey to the tea to taste.
Tummy Trouble
Depending on what ails the tummy there are a few options. The 1st question to ask is does the gut need warming or cooling? Then make tea.
Mints for cooling, ginger for warming.
Catnip for griping/clenching
Fennel Seeds for indigestion, bloating, flatulence and constipation (Crush seeds)

To rehydrate from the gradually flu use ice chips. Our families 1st favourite food is frozen wild blueberries.
Garlic
Garlic has shown promise as a treatment for preventing colds and the flu. Studies have shown that garlic may reduce the risk of becoming sick in the first place, as well as how long you stay sick. It may also reduce the severity of symptoms.
And it's yummy! Food as Medicine. Make it tasty... no need to overdue it
Steam
Use a vaporizer to get moisture in the air, whether using a cool or warm mist, may also help ease symptoms such as nasal and chest congestion, along with coughing.
For acute sinus or respiratory ailments the old fashioned steam tent is very effective. I bowl of steamy water with just one drop of lavender and eucalyptus. Lean over the bowl with a towel covering your head and the bowl and breath it in.
